Pharmacology in the late Middle Ages: science, philosophy, and textual traditions

The workshop explores late medieval pharmacology as a theoretical field in which medicine, natural philosophy, logic, and metaphysics converge. The objective is to analyse the relationship between substance and accident, for example, the distinction between qualitas and proprietas and the link between specific form and complexio, as well as the criteria underpinning classifications, and the role of experimental knowledge.
